Last year I partook in the Dream Giveaway host by Greenleaf Barn in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Every year a team of vendors gets together to provide their services to one couple and give them the dream wedding.
Haley and Caleb won that wedding last year and in August they tied the knot in a beautiful outdoor ceremony surrounded by their friends and family. Followed by their barn reception. There were just two small catches. One, it was on of the hottest days of the year. Two, they only had a few months to prepare. But they did it!
Planning a wedding is no easy task. Ask anyone who has done it. They will tell you how much effort goes into planning they day. That is why it is so important to have a great team of vendors backing you.
Haley and Caleb spent the morning relaxing and getting ready in their bride and groom suites with their close family and friends.
Then from there they moved directly into first looks. Haley chose to have her bridesmaids and maid of honor step out so she could do a bridesmaid reveal. Then once that was complete we moved outside. Her and Caleb had their own first look and privately read their personal vows to one another.
One of my favorite aspects of incorporating a first look into your timeline is the ability to do a lot of your portraits before your ceremony. If you are on the fence about whether or not to do one check out my article all about the benefits of doing a first look HERE.
Next it was time to move into some additional portrait before hiding Haley away before the ceremony began.
Guests took their seats out by the pond in front of the barn and everyone received a program fan to keep themselves cool. Caleb was walked in by his mom and dad. Then Haley chose to walk herself down the aisle. They recited traditional vows and had a unity ceremony where they braided three strands of rope.
Oh sunset portraits. My favorite part of the wedding day. After the ceremony we moved into dinner and the beginning parts of the reception. But before the evening events got to underway we snuck Haley and Caleb outside. Soft light and a beautiful couple made for some dreamy evening couples photos.
Back inside the rest of the night got underway. Candid moments, toasts, cake cutting, and dancing the night away. Then as the night drew to a close their getaway car arrived, providing a great opportunity for some final photos and unique farewell to the couple.
Congrats to Haley and Caleb!
